Consul also expects high interest in the townhome units from investors adding to their portfolio of rental properties, given the ideal location, and the extremely tight market for Cochrane homes for rent.


Short supply of Cochrane rental properties could get relief

“Cochrane is close to zero vacancies, and properties for rent are very in demand. Add to this problem a limited supply of multifamily homes in the town with many young professionals, and investors are running the numbers and like what they see,” he explained. Compared to Calgary, units at Vertos are priced more affordably. But rents are higher in Cochrane due to short supply.

“The rents per square foot offers a much more attractive return, with better cash flows than in Calgary,” he added.

Vertos is also among the new sites that will launch with access to the highest gigabit speed in all of Alberta. The developer locked into a major partnership with Shaw Cable to offer included high-speed WIFI – an ideal fit for the growing number of tech workers who keep home offices as hybrid workers, want to skip the commute to Calgary, work for local businesses or live as digital nomads and are self-employed.


Outdoor events find a home base in Greystone's plaza
